Wave 5: Tips, Shortcuts, and Hidden Features

Power User Tips for SupaWave

A collection of useful tricks, keyboard shortcuts, and lesser-known features.

Keyboard shortcuts

• Shift+Ctrl/Cmd+O -- create a new wave

• Escape -- close the current dialog or deselect

• Enter in search -- force refresh results

• Arrow keys in contact dialog -- navigate the list

• Enter in contact dialog -- select highlighted contac

Wave organization

• Pin your most important waves so they always appear at the top of search results

• Archive waves you are done with -- they disappear from inbox but are always searchable with in:archive

• Use tags consistently across your team: tag:standup, tag:decisions, tag:feedback

• Save your most-used search queries and pin them to the toolbar

Direct messages

Start a private conversation by creating a new wave and adding just one other participant. SupaWave automatically detects two-person waves and marks them as DMs with a special label. DM waves hide the add-participant button to keep them private.

Account settings

Click your profile avatar in the top bar to access your profile and settings. You can update your display name, email, and password. Your avatar is powered by Gravatar -- set up your avatar at gravatar.com using the same email you registered with.

If you have admin privileges, you get extra powers:

• Toggle any wave public/private (not just waves you created)

• Restore any wave to a previous version

• Access the admin panel to manage users, roles, and moderation

• Suspend or ban users who violate community guidelines

The admin panel is accessible from the top bar navigation.
