Real-Time Collaboration in SupaWave
SupaWave is built on Operational Transformation -- the same technology that powers Google Docs. Here is how collaboration works.
Live editing
When multiple people are viewing the same wave, every keystroke is synchronized in real time. You will see other participants' cursors and edits appear instantly. There is no save button -- everything is automatically persisted.
Inline replies
This is what makes waves special. Instead of replying at the bottom of a long thread (like email), you can reply directly to any specific blip. Click the reply arrow on any message to create a threaded response right below it.
This keeps context tight. No more "see my comment above" or "referring to what Alice said three paragraphs ago." Just reply inline, right where the conversation is happening.
Participants and contacts
Add people to a wave by clicking the + button in the participants bar. SupaWave tracks your contacts automatically -- anyone you have interacted with in a wave appears in your contact list, sorted by how frequently you collaborate.
The contact dialog shows everyone on the platform with avatars and display names. Search by name or email to find who you need.
Wave history and restore
Every change to a wave is versioned. Click the History button to browse through the complete timeline of edits. You can see who changed what and when, with diff highlighting showing exactly what was added or removed.
Need to undo something? Admins and wave creators can restore any previous version with one click.
Tags
Organize your waves with tags. Click the tag area below a wave to add tags like "project", "meeting-notes", or "ideas". Tags are searchable with tag:name in the search bar and are visible to all participants.
